Samsung users should be aware that this problem occurs after the One UI 3.1 update

Samsung has recently started rolling out the One UI 3.1 custom skin update based on Android 11.  This update features multi-mic recording, single tech, lock screen widgets, etc. as well as enhances the existing user interface (UI) on the device.  But, while the update is quite fun for the brand's slightly older devices, it seems to have a big flaw.

According to Urbandroid, after Samsung's One UI 3.1 update, its battery saver feature is aggressively shutting down applications running in the phone's background.  Apparently many will like this feature as it will provide longer battery life in the device.  But it has been found that this feature disables background application killing as well as wake-lock and broadcast messages which can be a bit uncomfortable for the user.

That being said, the developers of the company are creating a test application to amplify the error, using it to collect data from the accelerometer.  However, the app is reported to stop receiving data after 3 minutes.

However, according to Urbandroid, this problem is new to OneUI, but other OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) devices already have such bugs.  In that case, Samsung users will be able to manually disable this feature on their OneUI device.  All you have to do is go to the settings menu and select the desired application from the application section.  Then you have to select the battery option of that app and from there you have to turn off the battery optimization.

It remains to be seen whether this error poses a challenge to developers and whether Samsung will release a new update in the coming days to correct it.
